The city of brotherly love should be called "The city of heat and narrow streets with no dividing lines," I think it has a ring to it, no? Well, I love Philly and I love the heat and all it's sweaty, stinky glory and we were both sweaty and stinky again yesterday!! Philly really is a great city, very historic and beautiful, great landscapes with a city built around that that is georguos.
Yesterday's entertainment would be provided at Club 218 on South Street, kind of like if the Haight wasn't so dirty, had more trees and wasn't so expensive it would be South Street. Oh, and was on a very narrow one way road, as most streets are in Philly. Upon arriving at the club very early, we unloaded our stuff from a reasonably close parking spot, upstairs of the bar where the bands play. A cool area up there, I really dug the space, pretty small and intimate. We walked around, chatted with people, bought some cool shirts. I got one that says "I'm from Philly, dont fuck with me," I'm a huge fan of it!!!
The first band was "Anger & Addiction," a cool bunch of guys who played straight forward punk/early hardcore kind of material. We went on to about 15 people and rocked out to the best of our tired abilities, not our best show on tour, but some people liked it and were very friendly afterwards. I had a bet that no one would get the cover song and fucking two people got it that night, so I have to buy Casey two bagels. The DJ for the night was awesome, he was playing some cool shit, we all really dug him.
I really liked Philly and would love to go back some more. After the show, we got some food from a very stoned women at the local Wawa and headed out to crash for the evening. We've got a day off and I get to spend some time with my family in VA!!! Thanks to Courtney at 218, she fucking rocked!!

Matt
